Breed: Chihuahua / Dachshund Mix
Sex: Neutered Male
Age: 11 years
Weight: 12.5 lbs

Sweet, Affectionate, Cuddly Gentleman
Good with dogs? Yes, he lives with peaceful dogs and gets along with two small, senior dogs and a young, large dog. He is unconcerned about new dogs when he is out walking.
Good with cats? Not Tested
Good with kids? Yes, he is happy to meet and receive pets from anyone! He will do better with older kids who are less energetic than younger kids.
Energy level: Low. Nacho is mellow. He enjoys taking walks, but otherwise, he is very chill and content to hang out and cuddle.
Medical needs: Nacho has a grade 3/6 heart murmur and will need regular veterinary monitoring. He has a condition called lenticular sclerosis which causes a hazy, cloudy, bluish cast to his eyes. He recently had a dental cleaning with many tooth extractions, so he needs food that is soft or quite small, if he eats kibble or harder treats.
Animal Characteristics: Nacho is such a sweet little gentleman! He rushes to meet you at the door when you get home, and jumps up to say hello! He is very affectionate and loves to cuddle under the covers in bed or on the couch. When out walking, he alternates between trotting along and taking lots of sniffing breaks. Nacho is friendly and happy to meet new people and receive pets. He’s calm and easygoing, and only barks if someone new comes through the door. He makes cute little grunting noises when you are rubbing the right spot or when he’s getting snuggly under the covers. He can free roam at home and does not need to be crated. He has shown interest in driving a car and would love to get up front with you, so it’s best to secure him when taking trips together! Nacho is sometimes adorably clumsy and uncoordinated and will fall off the couch or bed, then look astounded and embarrassed. He appreciates a relatively peaceful household. If you are looking for a loyal friend to share life’s simple joys, Nacho is your pup!
