Open Leadership Team Positions:

PawsCo’s leadership team is made of volunteer directors and associate directors who help guide all day-to-day operations. Joining leadership team requires a 2-year commitment and members of leadership are expected to join 70% of our monthly (virtual) meetings. 

Marketing Director

The role will include the following tasks:

  • Social Media leadership: Plan a content schedule for Social that both the Associate Director
    and Coordinator will help to execute across Instagram and Facebook.
  • Email coordination & planning: Maintain a weekly email calendar for all PawsCo
    newsletters to both volunteers and donors. Work with Associate Director on building and
    sending emails.
  • Events support: Work with the Events Director to provide signage and/or flyers to promote
    PawsCo volunteer opportunities and adoptable animals and increase community awareness
  • Meeting attendance: Attend once a month meeting (mix of virtual and in-person in Denver).

Candidate must have experience :

  • Writing and creating copy for social media posts as well as comfort responding to
    comments, DMs, etc
  • Email marketing and experience creating email audiences
  • Copy writing for larger initiatives such as fundraising or upcoming events
  • Newsletters are a shared responsibility with Director of Marketing
  • Digital design / photoshop experience
  • Optional: Salesforce experience and MailChimp experience a plus

Approx hours required: A fairly active roll, active about 1 hour a day

Marketing Associate Director

The role will include the following tasks:

  • Social Media support: Work with the Marketing Director to plan a content schedule for
    Social and execute across Instagram and Facebook for daily posts.
  • Events support: Work with the Events Director to provide signage and/or flyers to promote
    PawsCo volunteer opportunities and adoptable animals and increase community awareness
  • Email support: Help create concepts and write copy for newsletters and execute layouts in
    Mailchimp
  • Meeting attendance: Attend once a month meeting (mix of virtual and in-person in Denver)

Candidate must have experience :

  • Writing and creating copy for social media posts as well as comfort responding to
    comments, DMs, etc
  • Copy writing for larger initiatives such as fundraising or upcoming events
  • Newsletters are a shared responsibility with Director of Marketing
  • Optional: Digital design / photoshop experience to help Marketing Director with design
    projects for swag & collateral

Approx hours required: A fairly active roll, active about 1 hour a day

Intake Associate Director

This role is overseen by the Intake Director.

  • Work with Intake Director to keep track of foster supplies
  • Monitor food supply and order foster food supply
  • Organize donations from supplies at PawsCo headquarters
  • Oversee intake coordinator schedule so that fosters can get
  • Headquarters is located in south Denver and you’ll be asked to visit this location once or twice a week.

Events Director and Events Associate Director

The Events Associate Director is overseen by the Events Director.

  • Associate Director to assist the Events Director in managing the events@pawscoadoptions.org inbox.
  • Both will work with the marketing team to create promotional materials for scheduled events.
  • Community outreach for future events.
  • Hours vary based on events schedule.

Open General Volunteer Roles:

Donations Coordinator

This role is overseen by the Intake Director.

  • Manage the intake of all donation items at our headquarters in Denver
  • For all donations, determine if PawsCo can use the items or determine another non-profit to send the donation items to
  • Coordinate getting any extra donation items not kept by PawsCo to other non-profits

TNR Volunteers

This role is overseen by the Transport Team Director.

  • We are seeking transport volunteers to help release cats from local shelters following spay/neuter.
  • The TNR process is simple: community cats are humanely trapped, brought to a shelter clinic to be spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and ear-tipped (the universal sign that a cat has been spayed or neutered through a TNR program), then returned to the outdoor homes to which they are bonded so they can live out their lives where they thrive.
  • PawsCo volunteers support our local shelters by transporting TNR cats back to their original location and releasing them outside.
  • Transport is general from a central Denver shelter to an area requiring a 15-45 minute drive.
  • Volunteers generally take 1-3 trips per month and can select a date and time.

Transport Volunteers

This role is overseen by the Transport Team Director.

  • Volunteer to drive animals to/from appointments.
  • Can commit to as few or as many drives as desired each month with no upfront commitment
  • Get to interact and see cute dogs/puppies, cats/kittens
  • Low commitment, high reward volunteer role
  • Can also provide transport to fun adoption events and hang out with an animal at a local restaurant or brewery (monthly)

Photographers

This role is overseen by the Photography Director.

  • This role only requires 2-3 hours per month based on the amount of animals brought into foster care and also the amount of events we have scheduled.
  • Take pictures of foster animals at intake (intake is held twice a month on Saturdays and you only need to sign up for a few throughout the year.)
  • Photograph foster animals and volunteers at events

Intake Coordinators

This role is overseen by the Intake Director.

  • The Intake Team needs volunteers to help out with intakes! These coordinators will need to commit to attending two intakes per quarter.
  • Intakes occur twice a month on Saturdays (11am-1pm) at HQ. Dates of intakes will be known the month before.

Transport Team Coordinators

This role is overseen by the Senior Director of Animal Relations.

  • The Transport Team is looking for two volunteers to help with coordinating transports and other tasks on a consistent basis.
  • This would be anywhere from 1-5 hours per week (this can depend on the week, could be more or less) and would be fully remote work.
  • Access to check emails multiple times a day is a must.

Adoption Coordinator

This role is overseen by the Adoptions Director.

  • Role is fully remote and can be done on a computer. 
  • Call selected applicants for further screening.
  • Assist Adoptions Director in coordinating application screenings and meet and greets.
  • Assist in either attending the meet and greet or finding a volunteer to attend the meet and greet.
  • Ensure that adoption processes meet PACFA requirements.
  • Approximately, 5-7 hours per week.

Adoption Meet & Greet Volunteers

  • As a volunteer at our pet adoption meet and greets, you will have the opportunity to play a vital role in helping animals find their forever homes.
  • Your responsibilities may include greeting potential adopters, introducing them to our animals, answering any questions they may have, and assisting with the adoption process.
  • This is a great opportunity to make a difference in the lives of animals in need and to connect loving families with their new furry companions!
