Open Leadership Team Positions:

PawsCo’s leadership team is made of volunteer directors and associate directors who help guide all day-to-day operations. Joining leadership team requires a 2-year commitment and members of leadership are expected to join 70% of our monthly (virtual) meetings. 

Intake Associate Director

This role is overseen by the Intake Director

  • Work with Intake Director to keep track of foster supplies
  • Monitor food supply and order foster food supply
  • Organize donations from supplies at PawsCo headquarters
  • Oversee intake coordinator schedule so that fosters can get
  • Headquarters is located in south Denver and you’ll be asked to visit this location once or twice a week.

Events Director

This role is overseen by the Senior Director of Brand Management.

  • Manage the PawsCo events@pawscoadoptions.org inbox to field incoming event requests.
  • Create a calendar of events for PawsCo adoptable animals to be shown in a public setting.
  • Recruit event leads to help setup and manage the PawsCo table at events.
  • Provide messaging and event details to marketing team for event promotions.

Events Associate Director

This role is overseen by the Senior Director of Brand Management and Events Director.

  • Assist the Events Director in managing the events@pawscoadoptions.org inbox.
  • Work with marketing team to create promotional materials for scheduled events.

Associate Director of Relinquishments

Reports to: Relinquishments Director

The Associate Director of Relinquishments at an animal rescue is a highly dedicated and compassionate individual with a deep love for animals. They oversee the intake process for animals entering the rescue, working closely with owners who are surrendering their pets due to various reasons.

Their role involves assessing the needs and well-being of each animal, providing support and resources to owners in difficult situations, and ensuring a smooth transition for the animal into the rescue’s care.

Duties

  • Check inbox for incoming relinquishment applications
  • Communicate with team members regarding animals being surrendered
  • Provide resources to people who might be looking to surrender

This position is very important as it helps us ensure animals come back to rescue as well as helps us take owner surrenders preventing them from ending up in shelters. It is important to be kind as people are going through a hard time.

General Volunteer Roles:

New Foster Onboarding Coordinator

This role is overseen by the Foster Director.

  • Respond to new foster applicants with welcome email and to finalize required paperwork.
  • Update the PawsCo database with active fosters
  • Reach out to the PawsCo network of home check volunteers and schedule new foster home visits
  • Partner with various PawsCo teams to coordinate onboarding processes.
  • Requires quick email responses, strong communication and organizational skills.
  • This role is fully remote!

Temporary Foster Coordinator

As a temporary foster coordinator, you will:

  • Build relationships with fosters to help match animals with their foster homes
  • Send emails and use Slack and other tools to communicate
  • Keep careful track of temporary foster needs to help provide vacation coverage to our foster network
  • Be very organized and detail oriented
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Feel comfortable using Salesforce
  • Time commitment: approximately 30 minutes per day online and 1 foster team meeting/month (~1.5 hours)

Photographers

This role is overseen by the Photography Director.

  • This role only requires 2-3 hours per month based on the amount of animals brought into foster care and also the amount of events we have scheduled.
  • Take pictures of foster animals at intake (intake is held twice a month on Saturdays and you only need to sign up for a few throughout the year.)
  • Photograph foster animals and volunteers at events

Intake Coordinators

This role is overseen by the Intake Director.

  • The Intake Team needs volunteers to help out with intakes! These coordinators will need to commit to attending two intakes per quarter.
  • Intakes occur twice a month on Saturdays (11am-1pm) at HQ. Dates of intakes will be known the month before.

Transport Team Coordinators

This role is overseen by the Senior Director of Animal Relations.

  • The Transport Team is looking for two volunteers to help with coordinating transports and other tasks on a consistent basis.
  • This would be anywhere from 1-5 hours per week (this can depend on the week, could be more or less) and would be fully remote work.
  • Access to check emails multiple times a day is a must.

Bio Writers

This role is overseen by the Content Director.

  • Work closely with the Content Director to help write bios for the foster animals in a timely manner. This role is less than an hour a week!
  • Role is fully remote!

Social Team Volunteer:

This role is overseen by the Senior Director of Brand Management.

  • The social team is looking for help!
  • Role is fully remote and can be done on a computer. 
  • The time commitment includes roughly one week a month posting on FB and meeting monthly with the team to brainstorm content ideas for the month ahead or upcoming fundraisers.
  • Someone with corporate fundraising experience would be a total bonus!

Adoption Coordinator

This role is overseen by the Adoptions Director.

  • Role is fully remote and can be done on a computer. 
  • Call selected applicants for further screening.
  • Assist Adoptions Director in coordinating application screenings and meet and greets.
  • Assist in either attending the meet and greet or finding a volunteer to attend the meet and greet.
  • Ensure that adoption processes meet PACFA requirements.
  • Approximately, 5-7 hours per week.

Adoption Reference Call Volunteer:

This role is overseen by the Adoptions Director.

  • 100% remote volunteer opportunity. Help us ensure that our PawsCo animals go to responsible, loving adopters!
  • Time commitment is around 30 min/a week but regular availability is important as the applications come to you at random.
  • This volunteer should be available to call 2 references when we send an app (typically 1-2 applications a week). Calls should take 10 min or so for each ref with preset questions to ask.
  • Availability by phone/capacity to call within 24-48 hours of when we send the app their way (sometimes a 24 hour turnaround is needed but not often)
  • Need to email us if they are traveling/unable to help during a certain time frame so we don’t send apps without realizing the volunteer isn’t checking email.

Adoption Meet and Greet Volunteers:

  • As a volunteer at our pet adoption meet and greets, you will have the opportunity to play a vital role in helping animals find their forever homes.
  • Your responsibilities may include greeting potential adopters, introducing them to our animals, answering any questions they may have, and assisting with the adoption process.
  • This is a great opportunity to make a difference in the lives of animals in need and to connect loving families with their new furry companions!
