Open General Volunteer Roles:

Vet Team Spay & Neuter Coordinator

This role is overseen by the Vet Team.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage the Clinic HQ appointments (Feline Fix, SpayToday and Monarch)
  • Verify the vetting needed and sign approval forms
  • Monitor vet team emails
  • Enter animals information and save files in Salesforce

Relinquishments Coordinator

This role is overseen by the Relinquishments Director.

By supporting owners through the relinquishment process and providing compassionate, solutions-focused guidance, the Relinquishment Coordinator ensures animals in need are brought into the rescue safely, minimizing shelter intake and helping each pet transition toward a brighter future.

  • The role is 100% remote
  • Monitor and respond to incoming relinquishment applications via email or other platforms.
  • Communicate with team members regarding pending and scheduled animal surrenders.
  • Provide owners with information, resources, and alternatives that may help them keep their pets when appropriate.
  • Coordinate logistics for surrender appointments, including gathering necessary records and details about the animal’s needs.
  • Maintain accurate records of communications and surrendered animals in the rescue’s database.
  • Uphold a compassionate, non-judgmental approach with all owners, recognizing the emotional difficulty of relinquishment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle sensitive conversations with empathy. Highly organized with strong attention to detail. Ability to work collaboratively with staff and volunteers. Passion for animal welfare and commitment to the rescue’s mission. Previous experience in animal rescue, shelter work, or customer service preferred.

Home Check Coordinator

This role is overseen by the Foster Team Director.

  • Time commitment is spprox. 1-2 hours per week
  • Schedule & coordinate home check appointments for new fosters and active fosters needing renewals (Home checks are done annually for each foster)
  • Communicate with fosters and home check volunteers
  • Update Salesforce with dates, status, and paperwork
  • Send home check reminders
  • Requires strong verbal and written communication skills, computer access, proficiency with common online tools such as Slack, Salesforce, and Adobe

Graphic Layout Artist

This role is overseen by the Marketing Director.

  • Time commitment is approx. 5-10 hours per month (flexible)
  • Create visually compelling layouts for marketing materials such as flyers, brochures, and event signage using brand guidelines.
  • Collaborate with the photography and content teams to incorporate photos and text into print-ready or digital formats.
  • Format and export files to correct specifications for both web and print use.
  • Organize design files using consistent naming conventions and upload to shared folders for team access.
  • Make updates to existing designs as needed.
  • Proficiency in Canva and Photoshop preferred.

Adoptions Vet Records Coordinator

This role is overseen by the Adoptions Directors.

  • This role involves managing and sending medical records to adopters and partners.
  • Time commitment is approximately 3-4 hours per week.
  • Compile medical records for animals with scheduled meet-and-greets.
  • Respond to adopters requesting medical records.
  • Send records to the Teddy Cat Café.

Donations Coordinator

This role is overseen by the Intake Director.

  • Manage the intake of all donation items at our headquarters in Denver
  • For all donations, determine if PawsCo can use the items or determine another non-profit to send the donation items to
  • Coordinate getting any extra donation items not kept by PawsCo to other non-profits

TNR Volunteers

This role is overseen by the Transport Team Director.

  • We are seeking transport volunteers to help release cats from local shelters following spay/neuter.
  • The TNR process is simple: community cats are humanely trapped, brought to a shelter clinic to be spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and ear-tipped (the universal sign that a cat has been spayed or neutered through a TNR program), then returned to the outdoor homes to which they are bonded so they can live out their lives where they thrive.
  • PawsCo volunteers support our local shelters by transporting TNR cats back to their original location and releasing them outside.
  • Transport is general from a central Denver shelter to an area requiring a 15-45 minute drive.
  • Volunteers generally take 1-3 trips per month and can select a date and time.

Transport Volunteers

This role is overseen by the Transport Team Director.

  • Volunteer to drive animals to/from appointments.
  • Can commit to as few or as many drives as desired each month with no upfront commitment
  • Get to interact and see cute dogs/puppies, cats/kittens
  • Low commitment, high reward volunteer role
  • Can also provide transport to fun adoption events and hang out with an animal at a local restaurant or brewery (monthly)

Intake Coordinators

This role is overseen by the Intake Director.

  • The Intake Team needs volunteers to help out with intakes! These coordinators will need to commit to attending two intakes per quarter.
  • Intakes occur twice a month on Saturdays (11am-1pm) at HQ. Dates of intakes will be known the month before.

Transport Team Coordinators

This role is overseen by the Senior Director of Animal Relations.

  • The Transport Team is looking for two volunteers to help with coordinating transports and other tasks on a consistent basis.
  • This would be anywhere from 1-5 hours per week (this can depend on the week, could be more or less) and would be fully remote work.
  • Access to check emails multiple times a day is a must.

Adoption Coordinator

This role is overseen by the Adoptions Director.

  • Role is fully remote and can be done on a computer. 
  • Call selected applicants for further screening.
  • Assist Adoptions Director in coordinating application screenings and meet and greets.
  • Assist in either attending the meet and greet or finding a volunteer to attend the meet and greet.
  • Ensure that adoption processes meet PACFA requirements.
  • Approximately, 5-7 hours per week.

Adoption Meet & Greet Volunteers

  • As a volunteer at our pet adoption meet and greets, you will have the opportunity to play a vital role in helping animals find their forever homes.
  • Your responsibilities may include greeting potential adopters, introducing them to our animals, answering any questions they may have, and assisting with the adoption process.
  • This is a great opportunity to make a difference in the lives of animals in need and to connect loving families with their new furry companions!
