Adopting an animal is a lifelong commitment. But, many pets each year are relinquished to shelters because of financial hardships. At PawsCo, we’re dedicated to ensuring animals can stay in their forever homes, regardless of financial troubles.

Housing assistance

Denver Animal Shelter can provide temporary housing on a case-by-case basis.

Humane Society of Boulder Valley has a Safe House program to provide care for pets of people in domestic violence situations.

Denver Dumb Friends League provides short-term care for those struggling with homelessness, domestic violence, or medical issues requiring long-term hospital stay.

Guardian Angles for Soldier’s Pets provides assistance and support to active duty deploying service members, wounded warriors, veterans, and their beloved companion animals or assistance service canines.  

Food assistance

If you are having trouble feeding your animal and cannot get pet food through your local food bank, please reach out to pawscoadoptions@gmail.com.

Offers subsidized services by the clinic.
Statewide Friends Rescued Animal Network

Provides supportive care for the companion animals of senior citizens, persons with disabilities, and those coping with life-challenging illnesses.
Archuleta, Logan, and Morgan Counties PetAid Colorado Care Grants
Application must be submitted by veterinary clinic.
Chaffee County Ark-Valley Humane Society
Provides interest-free loans for unexpected vet expenses or pet rental deposits (no emergency funds).
Denver PetAid Colorado Animal Hospital
Discounted veterinary services for income-qualified residents.
Denver/Front Range Area The Cartwright Foundation “Ginger’s Legacy”
Owner is required to pay some costs upfront.
Dolores and Montezuma Counties For Pets’ Sake Humane Society
Offers assistance with spay/neuter and low-cost vaccinations.
Fort Collins Thomas Veterinary Clinic Elder Pet Care
Sliding scale discounts offered to clients over the age of 55.
Larimer County Colorado State University Pets Forever Program
For low-income seniors or disabled Larimer County residents; offers in-home care, food, and transportation services (no emergency funds).
Loveland PUPS (People for Underprivileged Pets)
Helps low-income seniors and other disadvantaged community members with financial assistance for emergency or other vital services for pets.
