We are so grateful to have you! PawsCo is a 100% foster-based rescue. Animals come to PawsCo from a variety of shelters to live in cozy foster homes until they are adopted to their forever families, giving them the opportunity to thrive outside of the shelter environment and become their truest selves.

As a foster for PawsCo, you will play a vital role in helping dogs and cats find loving homes. Choose from either full-time fostering (from shelter to adoption) or providing temporary foster care while other foster parents are on vacation. You will supply a loving home for the animal and PawsCo will provide everything else!

PawsCo promises to provide our fosters:

Support. We have a team of volunteers available and eager to help! We will connect you with our Training Team if you need guidance or tips and our Vet Team for any medical questions or needs.

Supplies. We will provide food, crates, bowls, leashes, collars, and any other supplies you may need for your foster pet, as well as medical care to get them cleared for adoption.

Transportation. If you need help transporting your foster animal to & from vet appointments or adoption meet-ups, PawsCo can help arrange a ride for your furry friend whenever needed.

We are seeking foster parents who will provide foster pets with:

A loving home. Whether you live in an apartment, condo, or house, you can open your home to an animal in need and provide a safe, healthy, and comfortable environment.

Socialization. Work to create positive relationships between pets and families to expand their adoption opportunities and increase their quality of life.

Commitment. There is no guarantee how long a foster pet will be with you; some animals are only in foster care for a few days, other a few months. Rest assured, once they’re cleared for adoption, PawsCo will be hard at work to find their forever homes!

Steps to becoming a PawsCo foster:

  1. Complete the Foster Application
  2. Attend On-boarding Orientation
  3. Schedule a Home Check

Once the above steps are completed, you’re ready to tag an animal! Please browse our in-needs list and volunteer group Facebook posts to find an animal that is the best fit for you. You can always utilize the foster team to assist you in tagging an animal – we are happy to help!

After tagging an animal, you will receive an email from your foster lead with next steps. Fosters will need to sign up for intake (held every other Saturday) and vet appointments (if necessary). PawsCo animals need to attend intake prior to being cleared for adoption. During intake, our Vet Team will let you know what’s needed for your animal before they can find their forever home. PawsCo will cover all vet fees and provide you with a list of vet partners to choose from should your foster pet need any medical services prior to being cleared for adoption.
