Meet Jelly Bean!

Jelly Bean
Lab Mix
Female
5 months old
27 lbs.

Hello friend, I’m Jelly Bean! I’m the sweetest, friendliest young pup with the happiest energy! I’m super cuddly, joyfully playful yet mellow at heart, and I’ll be a great addition to any size family. I’m wagging my tail and bouncing with excitement to find my forever family!

I love everyone I meet and I adore being petted! I love nothing more than cuddling up in your lap and while you stroke my beautiful fur, which feels like a super soft fleece blanket. I am ultra affectionate and give lots of kisses, but not obsessively. I love belly rubs and snuggles!

I am a fast, eager learner who is motivated by love and treats! I can sit while waiting for food and I am not a picky eater. I’ve learned to ask when I need to use the bathroom and can even potty on command. I will come when you call me and I understand commands such as “sit,” “wait,” “let’s go,” and “this way.” I’m good at walking on my leash with a harness, and I am learning how to control my eagerness to jump when I get excited. When I explore my yard or play in my home, I like rope tugs, balls, my KONG with peanut butter and interactive food/treat toys! I will mouth on stuffed animals but I won’t eat them. Whenever I am mouthy, it’s in a gentle way, and I can be redirected. I am really such a smart, good girl!

I am crate trained; I rest and sleep peacefully in my spacious crate with blankets, but I love to get up and go places with my family! I’m great in the car, totally content to hop in and lie down in the back, safely tethered to a seat belt, and I don’t get carsick! Can you believe I even like baths and nail trims? With positive reinforcement, I will continue building my good habits and be the very best girl in my forever home!

While I have met a few dogs and our interactions have been positive, I am not currently living with other dogs in my foster home, so I’m ready for regular puppy socialization training. Slow introductions to new dogs and monitored interactions are, of course, best for a puppy my age. I have not met any cats yet, but since I’m pretty easy going, I might do fine with a feline friend if we had slow introductions first. I may do better with kids past toddler age who won’t have irresistibly sticky fingers that I’ll want to lick, and who will be patient with me while I am still learning and training to be the best pup I can be.

A reminder that puppies like me are so adorable but we are also a lot of work! “Puppyhood” can last for 1-2 years. We are similar to having a human toddler and we need a ton of patience, positive reinforcement training, and tons of love. An adopter should be fully prepared to register for puppy socialization classes at a local training facility (positive reinforcement training only!) and/or commit to learning positive training techniques to help support me as I grow up. If you are ready to cuddle and snuggle an adorable puppy, I can’t wait to meet you!
