Meet Carmella!

Carmella
Border Collie
Female
1 year old
34 lbs.

Hello there, I’m Carmella! I’m a sweet, frisky pup with glorious Border Collie energy and herding skills. I’m ready for a fun loving home and outdoor environment where I can run, play, herd, and let my natural instincts flourish! I’d be the perfect companion for an active, patient person or family.

I am very smart and eager to learn! I’m potty trained, crate trained, and I’m have learned a handful of commands already! Since I’m just a puppy, I am also learning manners and how to control my urge to chew on new things. With positive reinforcement, I will continue building my good habits. I’d do better in a home with older kids who can help me continue to learn with patience in my training.

It may take a little bit for me to warm up to new people, but I really like the attention once I get to sniff you a little first! I wiggle with happiness and love some cuddles. I play well by myself, and am friendly with the resident dogs in my foster home. I’m so fortunate to be learning from a pair of canine friends who happen to be well-mannered Border Collies who match my energy level perfectly! I am slowly being introduced to other dog friends but will need your help building confidence and socializing. Due to my herding instincts, I may do best in an environment without small pets that I might be tempted to chase. While my foster has not directly observed me with a cat, evidently in my prior living situation I would affectionately hold cats down and lick them! I may be full of surprises and my forever family can help me grow up to be my very best self!

I’m a very active girl, and my foster takes me outside five or six times a day so I can burn off my joyful energy! If you are experienced with Border Collies and perhaps would like to have an agility dog, frisbee friend or farm companion, please come meet me! I’m wagging my tail with excitement!

Please learn more about the adoption process and fill out an application at www.pawsco.org/adopt/adoption-process. I look forward to meeting you!
